30 Weeks And Counting

Hard to believe that there are just 10 short weeks left in my pregnancy.  I've been really lucky so far that everything is progressing well.  Aside from some moderate issues in getting comfortable at night (multiple pillows are a MUST), I really haven't had any negative side effects.  The few times I have had heartburn, I've taken Ultimate Aloe, which quickly nullified it.  Other than that, just healthy eating seems to do the trick.

By the way, here is a picture of our wee one.  This was about a month ago.  Based on the movements I'm feeling, she is planning to pursue a career in kickboxing.

In true Latka fashion, now that we're a bit less than 10 weeks out, we're finally getting around to prepping the rooms.  Yes, I said roomS.  Both the nursery and the new guest room (which was kind of a storage room), are getting cleaned out today.  In fact, I'm taking a bit of a break from doing that to write this post.  Its somewhat amazing the amount of crap that two people can accumulate over 8 or 9 years when space is provided.  I'm not looking forward to cleaning out my parents' barn!  (Ha ha! Love you mom & dad.)  That being said, we're getting down to crunch time and there aren't that many available weekends left when this stuff can be done.  And so its time.  We're having a garage sale soon and hopefully someone out there will find that the random stuff we have for sale is useful to them -- and actually pay us some small amount for it.  Wouldn't that be grand?

The good news about tackling these rooms is that we're actually cleaning out the closets.  David decided that since the closets were empty, it would be a good time to repaint them.  I'm not sure what he was thinking, but since he's enthusiastic about doing it, I'm not going to interfere.  :)  Unfortunately, that leaves the nursery looking like this (yes, that is a bed frame leaning against the end of the bed):

The guest room isn't much better.

We just have a lot of stuff to rehome!  I'm signing off for now, but stay tuned for updated images of both rooms as they are completed.  The nursery will definitely be getting painted.  The guest room might just get a coat of paint too.  I think 8 years of builder white is long enough.

Excursions

Last night we booked an excursion for Monday in Kona. Dave has been itching to dive at Kona (not just snorkel) since before we went to Kona a couple years ago. He's finally going to have his chance! We have booked a dive/snorkel excursion for Monday. We're going to be doing a Manta Ray two tank dive. Well, let me correct that...Dave is going to be doing a dive along with friends Sip and Luke. Myself and my parents are going to snorkel. I'm really excited about this and I know my parents are going to be thrilled as well. They've never done anything like this before. The excursion starts in the afternoon with a late afternoon snorkel (or dive for those that are diving). Once the divers are in the water, then the snorkelers get to get in and check out the reef for a while. Then everybody gets out, has some dinner on the boat and then we head over to the second dive site where the Manta Rays feed. This is going to be really awesome!

Glacier Park - Sept 2009

On Sunday, September 6, we flew to Kalispell, MT and spent the remainder of the week hiking around northwestern Montana. We spent 4 days with my aunt and uncle, who live outside Libby, MT. Then we headed to Glacier National Park and enjoyed breathtaking scenery and gorgeous weather! Here are a few photos from our time in Glacier.
